How Neurofeedback Supports ADHD, Anxiety & Emotional Regulation with Doug West
What if improving focus, resilience, emotional regulation, and mental clarity didn't require you to "try harder"?
In this episode of CAMP Conversations, Dayna Haig-Conway sits down with Doug West (MA, DVATI, RCC-ACS)—Head Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, and Advanced neurofeedback Trainer—to explore how neurofeedback supports the brain's natural ability to self-regulate.
Drawing on more than 30 years in mental health, Doug shares why neurofeedback is transforming the way he works with children, families, and neurodiverse individuals, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
Together they discuss:
What neurofeedback actually is (and what it isn't)
Why self-regulation is foundational to mental health
The surprising connection between neurofeedback and resilience
How neurofeedback can help create the "pause" between thoughts and reactions
Burnout prevention for therapists, educators, and helping professionals
Why parents should focus less on fixing behaviours and more on building regulation
Common myths and misconceptions about neurofeedback
Real-world stories of transformation from Doug's clinical practice
Whether you're a parent, educator, clinician, or simply curious about brain health, this conversation offers a practical, hopeful perspective on supporting the brain's incredible capacity for change.
